War Stories from the Field: What Nearly Broke You?

We asked the crew: what’s the one job that almost made you walk off? Here’s what they said.

Not every day in this business is glamorous — hell, most of them aren’t.

So we asked: What’s the job that nearly broke you?

You didn’t disappoint. From trucks sunk axle-deep in cow pastures, to tipping a full toilet down a ravine, to cleaning out a roll-off someone used as an open-air bathroom… you’ve seen it all.

Here’s a taste of what came in:

💬 “Customer swore the roll-off was just ‘household junk.’ Showed up to find it packed with shingles, bricks, a fridge, and a dead goat.”

💬 “They said the toilet was on-site and accessible. Turns out it was a quarter-mile uphill… behind a locked gate…”

💬 “One of the worst? Rain turned the whole jobsite into mud soup. Truck got stuck. Toilet tipped in the wind. I left soaked, caked in mud, and questioning all my life choices.”
